Lemon Aid 100 Challenge Launched

£60,000 of matched funding has incredibly been made available to Lemon Aid until the 1st of August 2013 .  This is for the construction of it’s essential hospital on the island of La Gonave, Haiti. In response to this, the Lemon Aid 100 Challenge has been launched.

100 People Raising

£100 in the next

100 Days

Will you be the change and be one of the 100?

Every penny you raise will be doubled in the next 100 days because of the £60,000 matched funding.

The existing hospital in La Gonave is completely inadequate for the medical needs of over 110,000 people. The existing hospital was built by missionaries in the 50s for a population of around 10,000 people. Today that same building is the only hospital on the island and serves a population of over 110,000 people.

But we are changing this.

A new 44 bed earthquake and hurricane resistant hospital is under construction and is about 60% complete.  We have a very experienced, professional project manager, Julian Cattle on the ground. We have a trained Haitian workforce who can complete the job. We have dedicated medical staff to treat the patients.

But we have run out of money to complete the job and we need your help. In total we need £130,000 to complete the construction phase of the hospital before its opening ceremony planned on 28th September 2013. If funds run out, the construction will come to a halt.

We have £60,000 of matched funding up to the 1st August 2013.

We are looking for 100 people who will roll up their sleeves and be the change by fundraising with the aim of raising at least £100 ($150) by the 1st of Aug 2013.

How you raise the funds is up to you. You could do a bake and sell, an eBay sale of unwanted goods, sell some possessions, do  a sponsored run, swim or cycle or anything else you can imagine.
